Overview

East Renfrewshire Council launched a new support programme for local businesses, led by Business Gateway East Renfrewshire. CJM Lumina were appointed to manage the Accelerator and incubator space, within Greenlaw Works in Newton Mearns.

Brief

The Accelerator has been designed to provide nine businesses with co-working space, expert advice, and tailored support, with the aim of each business achieving a turnover of £250,000 and creating one new job. This, in turn, will strengthen the local entrepreneurial landscape.

The incubator is still ongoing, and our role is to provide the businesses with the right support. The businesses are focused on harnessing technology to unlock growth, and so it’s vital that we analyse complex data and information models to forecast the trajectory of each business and its likelihood to meet the overarching goal.

Delivery

The programme is being led by a Senior Consultant, and so the design and ongoing management of the programme has to be evidenced and informed by data. We therefore have to use our expertise of operating at a high-level, and be confident in the support we are offering to businesses in the incubator.

Results

The programme launched in January 2024 and all businesses are progressing well to meet their targets. Within eight months of the Accelerator beginning, three of the nine business had already achieved their targets, and the creation of six jobs had already been achieved.
